The Coral Strand Hotel is situated in the famous Beau Vallon Bay on Mahe Island close to the bay's famous long sandy beach. The Coral Strand is easily accessible from the airport and Seychelle's capital city of Victoria making it ideally positioned for exploring the islands. The 130 rooms at the hotel are divided into categories of standard, superior family rooms and superior deluxe rooms. Most rooms have sea facing views and all the rooms are en suite and have air conditioning. Room service and an Internet cafe are available 24 hours a day. There are a number of dining options as the hotel has two restaurants, a lounge that offers light meals, a bistro and a pool bar. Guests can use the neighbouring Leisure 2000 club and partake in a range of watersports available there, including windsurfing, canoeing, snorkeling and Hobie cats.

HOTEL REVIEW - COUSINE ISLAND

Cousine Island has been a nature reserve since 1968 when it was purchased by the Royal Society for Nature Conservation. Home to a number of rare birds, including the Seychelles warbler, Seychelles magpie-robin and Seychelles fody which is only found on a small number of other islands, Cousine Island places strong emphasis on conservation and all tourism to this island supports the conservation of the flora and fauna of the island. Only eight guests may stay on the island at any one time. There are four spacious and air conditioned villas, each with large patios, a bedroom, lounge and private jacuzzi. Meals are served at the main pavilion but requests can be made to have dinner served at the villa or on the beach. Excursions to neighbouring islands are available, as well as guided walks, diving trips and boating.

HOTEL REVIEW - DENIS ISLAND

Denis Island is located 95 kilometres north of Mahe Island and is a coral island with long stretches of white sand beaches nearly all the way around its coast. The island has 25 holiday cottages, each set near the shore and amidst the natural gardens of the island. All the cottages have air conditioning and private verandahs and gardens and have been carefully distributed to ensure absolute privacy. There is a spacious family villa, known as 'Villa Prince Noir' that has a lounge and an extra bedroom that can cater for two children under the age of twelve. There is also a larger executive villa or 'Bois D'Argent' that has 325 squared metres of living space. The resort has a restaurant on site and offers a number of activities including fishing, diving, snorkeling, sailing, windsurfing, canoeing and hiking.

Desroches Island is one of a small number of islands forming part of the Amirantes Group of islands, a remote coral atoll that is a thirty five minute flight away from Mahe Island. Only six kilometres long and one kilometre wide, Desroches Island offers an exclusive island getaway in private suites and villas. The junior suites are set facing the ocean amidst tropical gardens. Each suite is air conditioned and has a private verandah, lounge area, television and outdoor shower. The villas offer up to four bedrooms, have sea views and balconies as well as a private swimming pool, central living and entertainment area and kitchenette. The Restaurant Le Veloutier offers Creole, French and International Cuisine. There is also a beach bar and beach restaurant for lighter meals during the day. The island is famous for its spectacular dive sites and in addition to diving offers windsurfing, kayaking, canoeing, snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing, island excursions, tennis and French bowls.

The Four Seasons boutique resort on Mahe island is positioned on two headlands overlooking the Petite Anse Bay. The spectacular views from this position are visible from each of the 26 private villas that make up the resort. Each villa has been individually designed to blend into the natural surroundings of the island. Every villa has its own large outdoor deck, infinity swimming pool and is spacious and comfortable with modern wooden, teak and marble finishings. Every bedroom in each villa also contains a Bose entertainment system. There is fine dining, private menus and a concierge service available. There is a sauna available as well as a spa which is situated in the hills and offers a variety of treatments. Additional services available at the Four Seasons include child care and babysitting, internet access, hairdressing and meeting facilities.

The most remote of all the Seychelles islands, Fregate Island is a 20 minute flight away from Mahe Island. The Fregate Island Resort can accommodate no more than forty people at any one time. Accommodation is in forty mahogany villas that are spread out amongst the gardens to ensure privacy. Each villa has its own terrace with day beds and jacuzzi as well as a private infinity pool and butler service. The resort also has an additional two swimming pools, two restaurants, a beach bar, library, fitness centre and gallery. The island has seven beaches, including the famous Anse Victorin beach that has been named as one of the most beautiful in the world. Children are welcome at the resort and there is a children's club - the Cast Away Club - to keep them busy during the day.

Being a small hotel, there are only 32 rooms divided between eight double storey blocks. These are distributed in the gardens around the hotel's reception, restaurant and bar. Each room can accommodate up to three people and is equipped with air conditioning, fans, a television, dial direct telephone, en suite bathroom and private sea facing balcony or terrace. The hotel has a large swimming pool and offers a daily free shuttle service to the nearby Cote d'Or beach. Windsurfing and canoeing facilities are available and snorkelling, fishing and boat trips can be arranged by the hotel.

The main house of the hotel has ten rooms, each with private terraces and ocean views. All the rooms have air conditioning, a television,telephone, tea and coffee making facilities and an en suite bathroom. The on site restaurant serves traditional Creole and International cuisine. Cerf Island is most famous for its fantastic nearby dive sites and the rich marine life of the surrounding coral reefs and the hotel has diving equipment for guests to use. Other activities offered at the hotel include snorkeling, pedalcraft, canoeing, boat trips and big game fishing.
