The five-star Altes Landhaus Country Lodge is in the Schoemanshoek Valley of South Africa’s Little Karoo region. The Cape Dutch-style homestead, built 100 years ago, has been restored; Oregon pine floorboards and high-beamed ceilings reflect its rustic origins. The country lodge has a homestead’s garden, solar-heated salt-water swimming pool and a pool bar. The lounge area has two fire places. Guests are welcome to dine on the patio during summer.
