We had a super holiday - everything was so well organised. The 2by2 guides were all very helpful with such a wide range of knowledge. Each day was organised with no effort from us which meant we saw and experienced such a lot in a super country. The hotels and lodges were comfortable clean and with very good food.
Satara was like a 1950's holiday camp - very basic, clean and friendly with two nights of good food and one night of bad food. The room only had one socket and when we are plugging in mosquito repellants, my phone (as our alarm clock!), Lincoln's ipod and my camera batteries to recharge, not to mention the air conditioning -we had to plan the power requirements like a military operation! Safari was however the most amazing thing I have ever done. We saw all the Big 5 and the most amazing birds. We were lucky enough to see a giraffe that had been killed by lions and they were eating right by the road - we stayed and watched that for hours, only leaving because the camp gates were shutting.
Our guide Alan was a really nice guy and what he didn't know about Kruger was really not worth bothering with - he really made the game viewing special and I would recommend him very highly
Game viewing in the Kruger was great. Managed not only to see the "Big Five", but to see them all in one day! Think Chic got a bit worried though when Megan got so excited at seeing a leopard she nearly climbed out the window of his vehicle trying to get some good photographs!
The unanimous decision is that this is the best holiday we have ever had. We have visited China, Canada and many of the countries in Europe and while we have had some good holidays this beats them all. The organisation was excellent and our host Jaco was a perfect choice. He was there for us every step but gave us space to go it alone also. His help in bird identification helped us increase our life list by over 100 birds
In Kruger it just got better, with even more animals to see. We didn't mind the early starts at all, it was all worth it! The huts were simple but clean and comfortable. Jaci is an excellent guide and a nice person, very knowledgeable and fun to have around. He was there whenever we needed him, but also gave us our space (not always easy to find the balance, but he was great). He even prepared a Braai (BBQ) for us on the last night! Now, how many tour guides would do that? We absolotely loved every minute of this holiday. It really was the trip of a lifetime, just as intended.
Our guides were amazing, answering all the questions asked of them. Saw all the Big 5
Jaco was an exceptional guide who gave us an amazing Kruger experience. His knowledge(and eyesight!) were unprecedented. A first class host and photographer
Our host, Alan, was exceptional!
Really the high note of a wonderful trip!
Clearly you choose your South Africa representatives very carefully indeed. Jaco was not only a great guide but had a lovely sense of humour (ask him about Steenbok)!
Loved Kruge Park accommodation and staff
Cape Town is a beautiful city, Vic Falls was fantastic but perhaps the highlight was Kruger - Jaco was a fantastic host, I couldn't have asked for anything more. Please pass on my thanks to him again. I would definitely visit SA again and recommend 2 by 2 Holidays to anyone else wanting to visit
Saw the Big 5 and more, but found the buffet meals very disappointing
We saw 5 leopards in 2 days at Skukuza! Enjoyed setting and chalet was comfortable
Kruger was amazing. We saw 4 out of the big 5 and actually saw some lion eating a baby giraffe that they had caught and when we were going back to camp after our sunset drive we saw hyenas surrounding the lions, it was amazing to see and listen too. When we were leaving Kruger we were lucky enough to see a pack of African wild dogs just off the side of the road - apparently this is quite rare, so as you can see we had an amazing time
Thanks to Alan for making our (long!) journeys to and from the Kruger that much more enjoyable and interesting. I would certainly recommend your services to our friends. Thank you also for the time and trouble you must have taken in getting George's PSP player from J'burg back to us in Cape Town by courier. It was very kind of you and done with the utmost efficiency and speed. Thanks for all you did for us and 'going that extra mile'
Basic but acceptable for purpose. Could have done with another electric point.
