We are just back from 3 fantastic days at Stanley's. We had booked the place thru a South African Agent, and two weeks before we left we found out that we were booked into one of the open units. My wife is concerned about bugs, so we asked for a closed unit, which was confirmed to us. When we arrived we learned that we indeed did have a closed unit, but we would have to move every night into a different one. The manager offered us Suite #1( Honeymoon Suite) which was open, for the three nights and asked us to have a look at it . We loved it. My wife said she would be willing to try it for a night, and waking up to the open sky in the morning was just perfect. There were a few mosquitoes around at dusk and in the morning, but they were absloutely no problem, and we never saw another bug in the place in the 3 days we were there. The setting is just beautiful, and the place was spotless - we had stayed at 2 lodges in Botswana, and went on to Sabi Sands in Kruger, but this was the best accomodation we had on the trip for sure. If you ever get the chance to go - don't let the open design hold you back - it is a wonderful experience that we will always treasure. Also one comment about the staff - as one or two of the reviewers has reported some problems - we found them to be just about perfect. Service was fantastic - and very personal. This is really a fantastic place.
We went over into Zimbabwe for a day during our stay - the falls is much better from that side. We also did the Lion Walk over there which was also wonderful.
