Bakubung is a luxury 4-star safari lodge in the Pilanesberg Game Reserve near Sun City. The bush lodge is a mere two hour’s drive north of Johannesburg and Pretoria and you'll find yourself in the tranquil heart of the bush. Pilanesberg National Park is home to Africa's giants - elephants, rhino and buffalo. If you're fortunate, you may catch a glimpse of the stealthy leopard or lion, stately king of the bush. Malaria free. The accommodation includes 76 air-conditioned, thatched roofs, studio rooms and 66 chalets curve into a horse-shoe around the outside entertainment areas, huddling visitors in cozy intimacy. All rooms have satellite, direct dialling phones, en-suite bathrooms, electric shaving plugs, coffee/tea making machines and a hair dryer.

The rooms allocated to us were not standard rooms but executive rooms! The food and service was absolutely first class, and the game drives were magnificent. Our guide Kobus ws a most likeable and pleasant chap with whom it was a pleasure to travel. We learned a lot about the country from him
Had a cold snap of weather during our stay. Freezing on the game drives so take warm clothes to wear. Hat, Scarf and gloves if you go in the South African winter time. Would like to go back at different time of the year to get the best from it. Hotel rooms spacious with the usual facilities. 2 double beds, large TV, Air Con etc. Nice pool area.
