Karafuu Hotel is located 65 kilometres from Zanzibar airport on the eastern coast of Zanzibar. The hotel is situated in lush tropical gardens and faces onto a long stretch of beach. Accommodation is available in junior suites, cottages and superior rooms, all of which are constructed using makhuti thatch and furnished with traditional Zanzibar furnniture. The hotel has its own dive centre that is PADI affiliated. In addition to the swimming pool, restaurants, tennis courts and massage treatments available at the hotel, there are also a variety of excursions including tours of the Sultan's baths and spice plantations and a tour to the fishers village that offers an opportunity to swim with the dolphins.
