Macatoo Camp Safari Lodge Hotel Reviews Okavango Delta Botswana Horse Riding Horseback Safari Holiday Accommodation Horseriding Wildlife Bird Fly Camp

LODGE REVIEW - MACATOO HORSE RIDING SAFARI OKAVANGO BOTSWANA
Macatoo Camp is situated on a slightly raised bank which stretches far into the Okavango Delta and provides permanent dry land for the horse riding safaris for which this camp is famous. The camp offers 6 classic African safari tents with a deck, en-suite bathroom and oil lamps. There is a mess tent with sofas, books and games and a terrace with a swimming pool. Most guests take two rides a day - a long four-hour ride in the morning, when there is plenty of opportunity to gallop across endless grassland, and a more gentle two- or three-hour ride in the evening. Macatoo cannot accept beginners for safety reasons, only proficient riders. Non-riding partners are welcome and can be taken out on game drives. Not recommended for people with disabilities. Children over 16 welcome. What did you think?

It was the most wonderful holiday -the attention to detail was excellent and nothing was too much trouble.Macatoo is in a remote setting and wonderful not to see anyone who was not part of our camp. The horses were well cared for and responsive - some really very forward going! The team did their utmost to match horses and riders and I'll never forget some of the early morning rides cantering through the water with buffallo running alongside.
Fantastic and I'd strongly recommend the camp to other riders. Their literature says that they can cater for non-riders. I'm not sure that there would be enough to do as a non-rider.
