LODGE REVIEW - SHINDI CAMP OKAVANGO DELTA BOTSWANA SAFARI
Shinde is a luxury 4-star tented lodge nestled on an island in the northern section of the permanent Okavango Delta in Botswana. Accommodation comprises 8 twin-bedded safari style tents with windows and private en-suite bathrooms with hot and cold running water, shower and flush toilet. The surrounding area has abundant game including lion, elephant and the elusive sitatunga antelope, whose elongated and splayed hooves enable it to walk on the unstable beds of reeds floating on the water. Guests can explore the channels of the Okavano Delta in mokoro canoes or by more powerful motor boat, as well as enjoy land-based game viewing on foot or in open-top game viewing vehiclesand tiger fishing. Really relaxing and different - quite wild with fabulous game viewing (lots of lion!)and really friendly management team. We got the season wrong through. Flood waters had not yet come in by early May, so that was a bit disappointing, but overall a fantastic experience. Not too keen on the light aircraft flights though - ginger tea and airsick tablets helped!
