The hotel is in the Durban suburb of Westville and was established in the mid-1800s as a first stop for travellers journeying from Durban to Pietermaritzburg. All rooms are en-suite, with a shower or bath, and complimentary toiletries. All rooms come with room service, selected satellite viewing, air-conditioning and telephones. Safes and hairdryers are available at reception. Nearby are uShaka Marine World theme park, the Gateway shopping mall and the Pavilion shopping mall.
