Zambezi Sun Hotel Reviews Victoria Falls Zambia Safari Holiday Tour Accommodation Game drives White water rafting Tiger fishing River cruises

HOTEL REVIEWS - ZAMBEZI SUN VICTORIA FALLS, ZAMBIA
Zambezi Sun is a modern 4-star hotel splendidly situated on the Zambian side of Victoria Falls. The hotel features adobe-style architecture with simple finishes characterised by ethnic wall stencils, timber and plaster ceilings, Zambian artworks and accessories. It is constructed in a series of eight buildings, consisting of 212 guest rooms, a central pavilion of restaurants and a fabulous convention centre. The guest rooms acknowledge their African roots in the deep rich red earth colour of the rounded planes of its walls. In the early evening the dark outline of the hotel is set against iridescent curls of smoky vapour that dance above its roofline. With a variety of activities around, this Hotel is the perfect base to explore the “Falls” and surroundings. Activities include guided tiger fishing trips, sunset river cruises, makoro ‘ local dug out canoe’ trips amongst the islands, game drives, abseiling, white water rafting and much more.

We had a wonderful time and enjoyed eveything about the experience from the animals to the waterfall to the accommodation and our guide Marshall, who was ever so knowlegdeable and friendly. We also had a helicopter flight over Vic Falls which was amazing

A joke. Room was dirty with stains on bedcovers and sofa. Dirt on bathroom fittings. We were offered two similar rooms but same situation. Eventually we were offered a suite. Much larger and I guess relatively little used, which was an improvement. Food - buffet - impressively laid out but I sense more quantity than quality. Hotel very noisy. Much door slamming through to small hours. But better was to come - we were eventually upgraded to the 5-star Royal Livingstone next door - just fabulous!

This hotel exceeded our expectations. The setting, the service and our whole experience there was unforgetable. Even though none of us were brave enough to do the bungi jumping, the helicopter flight over the Vic Falls was one of the several highlights of our trip. We also saw abundant wildlife from the river cruise, we even booked another one for the next day! We went to visit a local village, which was also exciting - having never been in a place like that before.

Holiday was fabulous. Sophie was not allowed to white water raft. I was rather relieved at this when I saw the size of the rapids. I was the only one to fall out and I fell out twice!

Mum's best day was the big 50 at Vic Falls, again a superb hotel and good food. She very much enjoyed her white water rafting and sunset cruise on the Zambezi, followed by a 5 star meal at the neighbouring Royal Livingstone with an African "Happy Birthday Serenade"!

Hotel was good, but we had problems taking out money in Zambia. No banks accepted Mastercard

Vic Falls was lovely, the hotel was fab especially the zebra grazing around the pool. We went to Chobe after Jaco recommended it. To see all the elephants was amazing, just as you imagine it

The Zambezi Sun hotel at Livingstone could have been better kept with stained furnishings and a bit grimy round the edges – nothing to really complain about but not quite up to the standard of other hotels.

Medical centre excellent for monkey bite drama! Tourists really should NOT feed the animals!

The Zambezi Sun at Livingstone was wonderful and we had no idea that the Falls were so close...3 minutes away! The room was excellent as were the restaurant, musical entertainments and general service. A minor point about the complex was that on arrival there were several minibuses, a lot of visitors with luggage and as yet no idea of the ropes- in such circumastances an atmosphere of calm is appreciated but we were met with singing chanting and drumming which made any contact with the staff tricky to comprehend! A glass of iced tea was thrust into our hands while we struggled with hand luggage- the process was similarly distracting on departure.
