We had a grand time at Thornybush - Ilse and Rein and the crew were great. Even had the extra excitement of monkeys in my tent one morning and a leopard meandering up to the pool one night. Not good for weak nerves!

What a great expereince at Thornybush. Welcomed by warthogs on the lawn and superb accommodation, we began our Big 5 game experience. Our room at the Main Lodge was luxurious complete with a bath overlooking the bush, inside and outside shower, plunge pool and great furnishings. Woken early before light each day then off for muffins and tea before the early morning game drive. Lots of clothes in layers to start the day. Cool on the open top vehicle but as daylight rises the layers come off until just a t shirt with the warm sun shining down. The animals!!! So close to Lions, Cubs, Zebra, Buffalo, Giraff, Hippo swimming, Rhino , Elephants and even a Leopard!! Too many more animals to mention. Evening games drives were a real pleasure especially the sunsets and the sundowners! Again lots of game viewing in abundance. Back to camp in time for a boma dinner, superb food served by very attentive staff. I would definately recommend staying at any of Thornybush lodges for wonderful service, knowlegeable guides and superb animal viewing.
