HOTELS REVIEW - RIVER CLUB ZAMBEZI RIVER VICTORIA FALLS
The River Club is a luxury wilderness lodge situated on the banks of the Zambezi River, 18km upstream from the world-famous Victoria Falls. The lodge has 10 thatched en-suite chalets that are completely open in the front, with uninterrupted views of the Zambezi River. The main lodge comprises a well-appointed Edwardian-style house with lounge, dining room, library, veranda, infinity pool and secluded deck with hammocks. Spa beauty treatments are available in the 'massage' tent. Activities include Zambezi River sundowner cruises, visits to Victoria Falls, Simonga Village and Livingstone, White Water rafting and Helicopter flights over the falls. Hippo and elephant are regularly seen and heard, bird life is rich and tiger fishing is available.

"Colonial Elegance Overlooking The Zambezi"
We stayed here for two nights while visiting Victoria Falls in between two safaris and just loved it. The elegant colonial atmosphere was quite special as was the vista overlooking the Zambezi River. The accommodations are very special with one enrire side of your individual chalet open to the elements overlooking the river. There is also a gorgeous infinity pool overlooking the river. The staff was wonderful. Breakfasts and lunches were quite good and served at outdoor tables. Dinner was a communal affair and the dinner food and wines were only ok, not great or memorable. For instance the same wines were served each evening regardless of the menu. We took excursions to Victoria Falls which was beyond belief and greatly surpassed our expectations as well as a sunset cruise on the Zambezi and a tour to a local village. I was reluctant to take the village tour but was very glad I did as it was extremely educational. All in all a perfect stop and break on the safari route. We stayed two nights and wished we had three.
