HOTELS REVIEW - ALOE RIDGE, TRANSVAAL, SOUTH AFRICA
Built by Sol Kerzner, this three star horseshoe-shaped hotel has picturesque views of the indigenous bushveld. Accommodation includes 72 bedrooms and 4 suites. All rooms are equipped with air-conditioning, heating units, TV, radio, telephone, private bathroom and shower. The hotel has conference facilities for up 120 delegates, a heated indoor pool and Jacuzzi, outdoor swimming pool, squash and tennis courts, volley ball, mountain biking, jogging/walking trails, river walks, trout fishing, a games room and Zulu kraal. Aloe Ridge has 2 restaurants and a ladies bar. The Gorge restaurant is situated in the mountain and well suited for weddings, it is the only restaurant in the world linked to its own private observatory.

One night at Aloe Ridge was excellent for the astronomy and we enjoyed the suite. Dinner was very good and the use of the telescope a unique and exciting experience. Having the owner describe what we were seeing was great.
