La Petite Ferme is a 5-star boutique guesthouse and winery situated high above Franschhoek, set within an intimate labyrinth of garden pathways with wonderful views over vineyards, orchards and the village below. There are 3 secluded luxury guest cottages with air-conditioning and underfloor heating, stunning interior decor, open fire places, private plunge pools, verandas and full amenities which ensure privacy, romantic charm and comfort. Cottages are poised on the mountainside, overlooking the Sauvignon Blanc vineyards and the valley below. La Petite Ferme, voted a "Top 10" restaurant, delivers innovative cuisine and wines produced in its own winery. Beautiful haven.We stayed 4 nights in their Vista Suite. The room was lovely - comfortable, well-serviced, peaceful and private. However, it's set apart from the other rooms and is nearest to the restaurant, so you have to negotiate lots of garden steps (which is tricky for ladies in heels when coming home in the dark after dinner) and you get to hear some noise from the restaurant. My recommendation would be to go for their Deluxe Suite or the ordinary Luxury Suites.The restaurant is very, very popular so I'd recommend booking a table in advance (they only open lunchtimes). We didn't do that and while they said they gave guests priority we had to kick up a bit to get the table they'd promised us. However, that being said, the food was very good and well-priced.
The owners/staff at La Petite Ferme are very pleasant and helpful.
