Leeuwenvoet Guest House Hotel Reviews Cape Town South Africa Safari Tour Holiday Swimming Pool Accommodation

HOTELS REVIEW - LEEUWENVOET GUEST HOUSE CAPE TOWN SOUTH AFRICA
Leeuwenvoet House is a lovingly restored 4-star Cape Victorian home which was built in 1892. The original house offers a fine example of the architecture of the period and has beautiful pressed steel ceilings and oregon pine floors and doors. The site of the guest house marks the original position of the farmhouse of Leeuwenvoet farm (Leeuwenvoet means “the foot of the Lion”). The hotel is 10 minutes’ walk from central Cape Town and near the historic Company Botanical Gardens, museum and planetarium. It is adjacent to trendy Kloof Street, the fashionable restaurant district and the V&A Waterfront is only a few minutes away.

"Good place to stay"We stayed here for 4 nights and were very pleased with our stay. We had a large room with a nice clean bathroom, huge bed and Air con. The staff there were very friendly and were keen to ensure that you had a good time. The breakfasts were excellent and lived up to their 'best in Cape Town' brag! The location is great too (City Bowls). All the restuarants on Kloof street and Long Street are all within easy walking distance - and there are some great (and cheap!) places to eat - I would recommend Greens and Mojito's. In my view, the City Bowls are a much better place to stay than down at the V & A waterfront - that's overly touristy for my tastes, more expensive and not as good quality food (in my opinion!). This B&B was more expensive than all the places we stayed in (about £70 a night), but I guess there is a bit more of a premium in Cape Town and the breakfasts were worth a few more pounds!

Probably the best guest house that we have ever stayed in.
