Plume Oudtshoorn Garden Route South Africa 4-Star Luxury Swimming Pool Hot Springs Hiking Cycling Safari Wildlife Ranch Ostrich Family Cango Cave

HOTELS REVIEW - LA PLUME OUDTSHOORN GARDEN ROUTE SOUTH AFRICA
The four-star La Plume is a 1902 Victorian homestead with a swimming pool on a working farm. Set in the Olifantsrivier Valley, La Plume has views of the Swartberg Mountains. Accommodation at La Plume includes honeymoon suites, luxury rooms and a family cottage. La Plume is a working ostrich, vine, cattle and alfalfa farm so tours of the property can be arranged. La Plume’s location allows for easy access to natural hot springs, nature and wildlife reserves, the Cango Caves, ostrich show farms and wine estates. The region’s activity options include bird-watching, hiking among the fynbos and rare succulents, leisurely walks in safety and solitude, mountain-biking and cycling. Take a balloon flight or visit a meerkat conservation program. Staff will help you organise your sight-seeing schedule and even prepare a picnic basket for you on request. An occasional night-time treat at La Plume is a stargazing session with a southern sky expert.

Lovely hotel - they put some very good port in our rooms!

Hotel and food was excellent. We rode an ostrich, tasted some wine and did the adventure tour at Cango (using up a whole years supply of adrenalin)

Lovely - especially the Proteas of which we were able to get some seed packets for our desert garden

Very happy, but limited space in bathroom to put toiletries. Rod enjoyed the ostrich steak - I did not, but not too many choices. Buffet breakfast also not very nice - cold congealed eggs. Enjoyed the Ostrich Farm and Cango Caves

Must admit I thoroughly enjoyed our 4/5 star accommodation! Something I could get use to!
I think Victoria Falls Hotel was easily our favourite closely followed by V & A & La Plume!

We loved the location of La Plume. The rooms we had were delightful and we were only sorry we didnt have a second night there in order to enjoy the luxurious tranquility and the pool a bit more. All the people we met were so wonderfully friendly and we found all our accommodation extremely comfortable. In fact we have never had such comfortable beds in hotels before!
