HOTELS REVIEW - MFANGANO ISLAND CAMP

Located on the shores of Lake Victoria, Mfangano Island Camp is the only resort on Mfangano Island. There are six rondavels, 2 twin and 4 double, all on the edge of Lake Victoria and all designed in the local Luo tribal style. Each room is completely private and equipped with an en suite bathroom and verandah with sunbeds. In the centre of the camp is a dining area and sitting room where meals are served and guests can enjoy the scenic view of the lake. There is room service on request and free daily laundry. Activities include fishing, boat trips and visits to local villages and rock paintings in the interior of the island. Guests can swim in either the lake or the swimming pool and there are also water sports available. The only way to reach the island is by light aircraft and then a boat ride to the island itself.
