It was good to see Kobus again in Jo’burg. He managed to avoid most of the road works around Johannesburg and deliver us safely to Maropeng. We were the only guests at this lovely hotel. This hotel was what one would expect from a 5* establishment as far as service and fittings were concerned, while being away from the city bustle with superb views. Definitely to be recommended for those who dislike airport hotels. Food was excellent although choice was limited to two options for each course. A refreshing last night before the flight home. The exhibition Centre at Maropeng is very well presented with a funny little boat trip which is more like a fairground ride. Lots of information and some interactive exhibits. The Sterkfontein caves were also interesting with a few places where you need to stoop down through entrances - so not for the claustrophobic or those with back problems. The new airport terminal at Johannesburg is impressive with very easy transfers between international and domestic terminals.
