HOTELS REVIEW - MAKANYANE SAFARI LODGE

Makanyane is situated on private land within the 75,000 hectare malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve, home to the Big 5 and other animal and bird species. The lodge consists of a main building and 8 suites, hidden in a forest, offering views over the Marico River and accommodation for a maximum of 16 guests. Suites have walls of natural rock and dried tree trunks and glass walled bedrooms that allow uninterrupted views of the river and surrounding bush. The suites have fireplaces, overhead fans and are fully air-conditioned and heated. The bathrooms have under-floor heating, indoor and outdoor showers, folding doors that can be opened with access to a freestanding bathtub. Rooms have a telephone, tea / coffee making facilities, mini safe and a bar fridge. Bathrobes, hairdryers, insect repellent, body and sun lotion, soap as well as shampoo and conditioner are all provided. Activities and facilities include an air-conditioned gym & spa, boma, fine dining, look-outs & hides, heated swimming pool, library, outside decks, game drives in open vehicles or on foot, wine cellar and a curio shop. Air-conditioned conference facilities include a computer with full internet access, fax services, satellite television and video.
