The Hideaway Guest House is opposite Knysna Lagoon and a good base from which to explore the Garden Route. Knysna town and the Waterfront are a 10-minute walk away. There is a choice of rooms: two Executive Rooms on the ground floor; three Superior Rooms on the first floor (with views of Knysna Lagoon and Knysna Heads); and two Superior Rooms in the Main House. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms with shower, TV, mini bar, tea/coffee tray, hairdryers and more. Telephone, wireless internet and laundry facilities are available. There is also a swimming pool and small gym. Day excursions include Tsitsikama National Park, Plettenberg Bay, Wilderness, George, Mossel Bay and Oudtshoorn. Other attractions include Featherbed Nature Reserve, Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe steam train, Monkeyland, Birds of Eden (the Garden Route's free-flight bird sanctuary) and Elephant Park where visitors can touch and feed elephants. Activities include hiking, fishing, golf, bicycle touring, canoeing/kayaking, horse-riding, sailing, whale- and dolphin-watching, surfing and more.
