Kwetsani Camp Safari Lodge Hotel Review Jao Mombo Okavango Delta Botswana Holiday Tour Accommodation Mokoro Fishing Walking Wildlife Lion Buffalo Bird

SAFARI LODGE REVIEW - KWETSANI JAO MOMBO OKAVANGO BOTSWANA
The remote Kwetsani Camp is located on an island in the private Jao Reserve, west of Mombo and the Moremi Game Reserve in the Okavango Delta, Botswana. The camp is raised on stilts beneath a shady canopy of palm, mangosteen and fig trees, overlooking the expansive plains. This is an intimate, 10-bedded luxury camp with 5 spacious "tree-house" chalets built under thatched roofs, with canvas and pole walls. En suite facilities under thatch include a shower, flush toilet and basin, with an additional outdoor shower. The dining room, lounge and pub area is situated under cool thatch. Activities at Kwetsani Camp include mokoro trips, walking on palm-fringed islands, day & night game drives and fishing. The waters at Kwetsani are typically at their highest from May to September each year. Children over 8 years welcome.

Heavan in the trees: While not the most luxurious camp I have stayed at in Africa (that would be Mombo) Kwetsani is probably my favorite. The tree top rooms are wonderful and the views out over the delta while sitting on the deck are spectacular. It is a small camp. So, if you have a group of 6 or 8, you basically have the place to yourselves.

The staff was wonderful and as good as any we have had in Africa. The camp offeres a wide variety of game drives, including motorboats and mocoros (sp). The wildlife was good and plentiful, although not as abundant as at Mombo or Kruger. However, we had up close encounters with elephants at our doors almost everyday and probably the best bird viewing of any of our stops.

Liked: Living in the tree tops
Tips/Secrets: Don't miss the mokoros
