Chilwero was absolutely clean, luxurious - fabulous rooms - newly painted and updated. Ours was Room 6 and a delight. We have traveled extensively and the place lived up to its star rating. We had a great guide, Ishmahl who was enthusiastic, smart, knowledgeable and I wanted to take him with us to our next lodge! I hated leaving. Our first day driving into the park (which was NOT overrun with other vehicles) we not only saw hundreds of elies, but lion cubs, leopards, giraffes, hippos..unbelievable for our first ever game drive. The evening cruises were outstanding; seeing the elies swimming across the river with their trunks used as snorkels was just a site to behold. The food was good not great, but we were happy with it; especially the hors'dourves put out in the lounge area before dinner. We met great folks and the managers were there at every meal; and also during the day interacting with the guests and arranging activities that were beyond expectations. I do not know why anyone would not want to go there...its a beautiful, lovely managed property with caring staff and great drives. Do yourself a favor and ignore the bad review. If you want to see elephants - go to Chobe. You won't be disappointed.
