The few days holiday was great. The plane from Lusaka to Mfuwe left on time
- might be worth mentioning to folk that there is no toilet on the plane so avoid too much coffee before the flight!! There was a person from Kapani Lodge waiting for us at Mfuwe Airport and the drive to the lodge is an easy 40 minutes drive. The Lodge was built by Norman Carr - one of the originators of tourism in Zambia. There are 4 hour game drives (with nice break for coffee) in the morning (get up at 5.30am for tea and porridge and then leave) and in the evening (leave at 4pm and have drinks at sundown somewhere in the
park) and then dinner at around 8 pm when you return. The lodges are very comfortable, the food is excellent and the guides are outstanding in their knowledge of animals birds and insects. It was a great place to stay. In addition to the static camp for people who are happy to travel in a 4x4 there are bush camps which specialise in walking safaris. The set up is very flexible. If we were going again and for longer we would suggest Kapani Lodge for one night and then a bush camp for a few nights and then back to Kapani. They have excellent website for pictures of camps etc.
