Chichele Presidential Lodge Hotel Reviews South Luangwa National Park Victoria Falls Zambia Safari Holiday Accommodation Walking Elephant Lion Zambia

HOTEL REVIEW - CHICHELE PRESIDENTIAL LODGE
Chichele Presidential Lodge is built on a hilltop overlooking the South Luangwa River in Zambia. South Luangwa is Zambia's most famous wildlife park and is home to elephants, buffalo, leopard, lions and their prey. Formerly a presidential retreat, the lodge comprises ten elegant Victorian style suites built along the edge of the hillside, with sumptuous air-conditioned and en-suite bedrooms offering panoramic views. The elegance of the Victorian era still lingers in the cool deep verandas, stylish dining room and reading rooms. Activities include game drives, night drives and walking safaris conducted by professional safari guides.
Children over six years of age are welcome.

The lodge is beautiful and the rooms are decorated in a classic colonial style and were very comfortable to stay in after 4 days of safari under canvas! The food was of a good standard and the waiters and house keepers were very friendly and helpful. Our main problem was with the management...they did not go out of their way to be helpful. All activities were included in the price of the stay at the lodge but we were told we could not do a bush walk (which they do offer) because they did not have enough guides... They also some how managed to muddled up our flight transfer times, meaning we arrived late at the next lodge missing are activity which was included in our package there but were far from apologetic about the matter. Although the lodge is lovely and is like stepping back in time I would not put it on my list of places to return to. I would rather spend more time at one of the more friendlier lodges which were better value for money in Zambia.
