Kosi Forest Lodge is a 4-star luxury tented camp situated in Kosi Bay Nature Reserve in the greater St Lucia Wetland Park, a World Heritage Site. The lodge is set in a sand forest in rural Zuluand, a 10-minute drive from the Kosi Bay lake system and 1-hour from Kosi Bay river estuary with its ancient fish traps . The lodge offers 8 thatched bush suites, with paraffin lamps and romantic open-air en-suite bathrooms carefully positioned to provide privacy. There is no electricity in the bedrooms and the swimming pool overlooks a lake that is home to hippos. Activities include canoeing & boating, snorkelling at Kosi River mouth & Theme Elephant Park.

Although I enjoyed my stay, especially the daily activities which are all included in the tariff (canoeing was great - also amazing snorkelling at Kosi River mouth)the paraffin lamps and outdoor bath were a bit of a shock to me as I was not expecting this!But after adding bubble bath to the brown river water I soon got over that and will certainly remember those baths under the stars forever! Good management team and excellent service. To get to the lodge takes about 20-minutes in a 4x4 over rough roads from the pick-up point, so be prepared for this
