HOTELS REVIEW – MARITIM HOTEL, MAURITIUS
Maritim is a luxury 4-star resort hotel on the west coast of Mauritius, recently refurbished. There are 147 Comfort Rooms, 29 Deluxe Rooms, 29 Prestige Rooms, 10 Junior Suites, 4 Senior Suites and 2 (two-bedroom) Presidential suites. There are four restaurants ranging from seafood restaurant and gourmet restaurants to a beach and grill/snack bar. There is also a pool bar and cocktail lounge. Room service is also available. A new wellness centre consists of a sauna, steam room, massage, beauty and hairdressing. The hotel has boutiques, a gym, conference room & business facilities. Sporting activities free of charge include a swimming pool with jacuzzi, children’s beach area, 3 floodlit tennis courts, volleyball, table tennis, waterskiing, hobycats, windsurfing, canoes, pedalos, snorkelling, glass-bottom boat trips, free green fees on the 9-hole (par 29) golf course. At an extra cost there is scuba diving, big-game fishing, horse riding, golf lessons, sailing cruises and bicycle hire. There are regular live shows available for entertainment in the evenings.

Excellent value, lovely setting. Very relaxing & enjoyable
Maritim hotel was good and we were lucky enought to get an upgraded room which was very nice. When we arrived the hotel was less that a quarter full which meant that the service and facilites were good. Unfortunatley as we were leaving things started to go a bit wrong. we lost power and water several times and were subjected to several bouts of drilling as they rushed to get the rooms ready for incoming guests. the staff were also having problems coping with the increased amount of guests and often the food choice ran out and service was slow. However this did not detract from an overall good experience and we were prepared for teething problems.
As far as all inclusive goes the choice on offer was fantastic. You could water ski, go on snorkel trips, sail etc all included plus the selection of drinks and cocktails were excellent. We took full advantage of this, the result being that I am on a strict diet!!
