Indigo Bay Resort Hotel Reviews, Bazaruto Island Mozambique Scuba Deep Sea Fishing

HOTELS REVIEW - BAZARUTO MOZAMBIQUE SCUBA DEEP SEA FISHING
Indigo Bay Island Resort and Spa is a 5-star vision of topical paradise, with palm trees, white sand and turquoise sea. The luxury resort is on the Indian Ocean island of Bazaruto, in Mozambique’s Bazaruto archipelago, renowned as one of Africa’s top scuba diving destinations. Elegant chalets and villas are made from reed, soft-fringed thatch and wood. Each has air-conditioning, mosquito screens, ensuites, mini-bars, 24-hour power and satellite TV. The resort has restaurants, bars, swimming pools, a specialist dive pool and a spa that offers everything from milk baths to hot stone therapies. Activities include dune boarding, horse riding or bird watching; watersports include fishing and diving. As well as 100 species of coral and thousands of tropical fish, divers should look out for five kinds of dolphins, four whale species, sharks and marine turtles. If you’re lucky, you may spy a dugong – Bazaruto has the largest population on Africa’s east coast.

My husband and I were there last April and enjoyed very much our stay. The place is gorgeous, with beautiful gardens and everything very well kept. All the rooms (very good standing) have a sea view. The food, buffet, is very good - lots of seafood - and very well cooked. The staff, most part mozambicans and from Zimbabwe, is friendly and attentive to your needs. One of the things that both my husband and I will never forget was that walking on a Bazaruto beach, we saw an African gentleman who greet us with "Good afternoon!" and when we replied in Portuguese "Boa tarde!" he stopped, made a large smile and said "Oh! You are Portuguese! Glad to meet you! I feel happy that we speak the same language!" It was very touching.
The resort is closed for refurbishment, I believe till Dec 06.
