Takawiri Island is situated near Rusinga and Mfangano Islands and occupies 10 acres of white beach and palm trees. The beach on Takawiri Island is unspoiled and the water is fresh and clear. Accommodation is offered in six chalet style cottages that are secure, private and comfortable and that each overlook Lake Victoria. The resort faces west and this provides for stunnning views of the sunsets each evening that can be enjoyed from the recreational area or bar or restaurant. A range of activities are also on offer, including snorkeling, swimming, windsurfing, sailing, game viewing of the nearby hippos and other wildlife and bird watching.
