Desert Rose Lodge Reviews Samburu Reserve Holiday Accommodation Environmentally Friendly Child Friendly Camel Safari Fishing

HOTELS REVIEW - DESERT ROSE LODGE
The Desert Rose Lodge is situated on the southern slopes of Mount Nyiru and has views of the surrounding forest in Kenya's fragile semi arid northern wilderness. There are only five houses at the lodge but up to 12 people can be accommodated at a time. Each suite has its own private but open air en suite bathroom. Baboon and leopard can frequently be heard in the surrounding area. The main lounge and pool area have been designed to blend with the indigenous gardens and all the power is solar generated. The lodge is child friendly and offers a complimentary in house masseuse, local guides, daily laundry service, radio and satellite telephone and email connections. Walking camel safaris can be arranged where camp equipment is packed onto the camels as they accompany the walkers on a minimum of a six night excursion through the terrain of northern Kenya. Fishing takes place on the Lake Turkana, 100km away, where a small houseboat accommodating up to four people is available along with a fully equipped fishing boat.
