HOTELS REVIEW - PROTEA MBWENI RUINS

Mbweni Ruins is located on the ruins of the first Anglican missionary settlement in East Africa. Only a few minutes drive outside of Stone Town, the hotels offers of daily excursions to the nearby town, as well as to tours to Prison Island, Chumbe Island and Bawe Island. The hotel has 13 suites and accomodates a maximum of thirty people. All rooms are air conditioned and furnished in the traditional Swahili style of the area. The hotel also offers a natural health centre with shiatsu and aromatherapy and walks through the surrounding botanical gardens.
