Matemwe Retreat is situated on Zanzibar's east coast, opposite the Mnemba Attoll and near some of Zanzibar's most spectacular beaches. There are three private villas at the retreat, each overlooking the beach and with an air conditioned bedroom and large bathroom. Meals can be taken at the villa or in Matemwe's main lodge. The spa treatments, including massage, are also provided in the villas. Activities include motoring or sailing out to the nearby Mnemba Atoll for diving and snorkeling.
