HOTEL REVIEW - BIRD ISLAND LODGE

Bird Island is the most northerly of all islands making up the Seychelles Archipelago and is a thirty minute flight away from Mahe Island. The Bird Island Lodge is the only lodge on the island and consists of twenty-four chalets with no televisions, air conditioning or telephones. Each chalet does have ceiling fans, a king size bed, en suite bathroom and large sea facing balcony. The lodge has a restaurant and bar on site, the restaurant serves buffets consisting of mainly local ingredients. Children are welcome at the lodge and each chalet can take up to two children and two adults. Activities on offer at the lodge include bird and turtle watching, boat trips, snorkeling, billiards and table tennis. The lodge has won an eco-tourism award for its management of the birds on the island.
